February 2006 Featured Band
The band has existed for almost a decade, finally forming the right combination
with this solid line-up in 2002. The PushRods are a original, polished, regional
punk rock act quickly gaining rave reviews. The last 3 years have proved to be a
great stepping stone for this band. They secured a spot on a soundtrack for the
movie "Plastic" (www.plasticthemovie.com) featuring their song "You're Lucky I
Don't Own a Gun". Their songs are also being played in Europe on internet radio in
the UK and Bulgaria. The PushRods have coined the phrase the "Porn Rock
Experience" onto unsuspecting and mostly innocent people at shows and various
events all over the northeast (NY, NJ, MA, PA and Florida).
From Ritch Sabins nasty guitar sound to his down and dirty delivery on vocals, to
Ron Grace's wild man onstage antics to Tim "the Crow" O'Hearn's no holds-barred
slam on the drum kit... the PushRods are a force to be reckoned with. This is
where you will see girls in vinyl skirts dancing on stage, and maybe even catch
Ritchie breathing fire! Certainly the PushRods are one of the most theatrical and
entertaining bands out there today spreading Punk Rock to the masses. You just
never know what you are going to see or hear at a show.
